Inspired by the mountains of Colorado and shaped by a love of timeless alpine style, Lowdown brings a refined point of view to the modern ski helmet and snowboard helmet. Each piece pairs a classic profile with Italian hand-made craftsmanship and meticulous finishing. Our helmets are retro in spirit with a modern execution, and have a vintage style created for those who value individuality on and off the slopes.
To produce Lowdown helmets we returned to Italy, the place where we first found the inspiration for the brand. We settled on a production partner in Tuscany who shares our belief that performance products can be functional and stylish. The outter shell of each of our helmets is formed by hand into a classic profile, with skills developed over decades. They are then painted in-house with a lustrous finish originally developed for the automotive industry. Inside our helmets, the custom-sewn padding is made from carefully selected materials chosen for their durability and comfort against skin. From the initial forming process, to the inspection of the final product, every helmet is monitored for quality that reflects a distinctly Italian pride and approach to design and making.
