Trexler Hirn
Trexler Hirn is a freeride skier, educator and professional ski instructor based in Aspen, Colorado. Originally from the Vail Valley and now residing in Carbondale, he has been skiing since he was two years old. Now in his third decade of balancing his passion for skiing with a love of learning and education, Trexler is honored to be supported by Lowdown Helmets and privileged to ski around the world. Whether instructing, freeskiing with friends, or lining up for the occasional competition, Trexler is driven by curiosity, a love for technical and playful skiing, and the simple joy of movement. His global background in chemistry, sustainability and engineering gives him a unique perspective on the mountain. He believes there is as much to learn from the mountain as there is from the people on it – a philosophy he and his brother explore through their company Gnarlos Productions.

Off snow, Trexler is a private tutor specializing in math and science, often working with the next generation of skiers to help them balance a strong academic foundation alongside their skiing goals for long term success in and beyond skiing. Trexler also believes the ski community has an important role to play in shaping the future of mountain environments. By fostering curiosity, stewardship, and a deeper connection to the places we love, he hopes skiers can be evermore active in protecting them. Trexler loves working with small brands like Lowdown because they are built upon passion and genuine relationships. For him, skiing is as much about community as performance and is proud to represent companies that care about their products, people and the long-term culture of the sport.
